About Lisa Kimelman

Lisa Kimelman founded Sugar Bee Catering in 2004. A graduate of the Culinary School of Kendall College, she worked for the acclaimed Trio restaurant in Evanston, Illinois, under chefs Sean McClain and Bill Kim, and also at Red Light in Chicago under the late great Paul Wildermuth. When she moved to New York, she worked for Martha Stewart Television and the Food Network before starting Sugar Bee.

For reasons she doesn’t quite understand, both of her grandmothers kept showing up with cookbooks for Lisa when she was a little girl. Obviously they were onto something: Lisa’s cooking has delighted intimate dinners for four, cocktail and hors d’oeuvre events for hundreds, Fashion Week for IMG Models, and the season-opener party for the National Football League. Her corporate clients include Ann Taylor, White & Case, Citigroup, and MTV. She’s catered private parties from Manhattan to Fairfield County, Connecticut.

She lives in Larchmont, New York, where she’s raising three children and ten chickens. She’s also an accomplished writer working on a book about her life over the last two years. It has not been dull; click here if you want to read more.
